Family Psychology AssociatesFamily Psychology Associates has called Safety Harbor home since 2000. We selected Safety Harbor due to its central location, which makes it accessible throughout the Tampa Bay Area. We also find that our clients enjoy spending time in our town due to the unique blend of shops, restaurants and salons that are located within walking distance of our office. We have ample parking on-site, but if you need parking you will find municipal parking along the railroad tracks at 9th Avenue or at the corner of 8th Avenue and Main Street.

Our main office in Safety Harbor is at the end of the building.  Clients who have a new client appointment with Dr. Blake, Dr. Singleton, Dr. Snyder or Ms. Bergman, should first visit our main office in Suite 7.

Visit us in our new Trinity office in 2015!

FAQ's

What can I expect when I call the office to make an appointment?

Personalized customer service begins with your first phone call. Our courteous office staff are ready to answer your questions each minute that we are open. You can describe your needs and they can match you with the most appropriate member of our team. They can also consider how your insurance coverage may affect the professional that serves you. If you are referred to a particular therapist, they will inform you about his or her availability for new clients.

What hours are you open?

We are open from 9 am till 9 pm Monday through Thursday; 9 am till 5 pm on Friday and Saturday. Each professional maintains their own schedule for clients. When you call, our office staff can review the schedule of each therapist.

How long will I have to wait before I can be scheduled for an Initial Consultation?

In most cases, we can set up your Initial Consultation during your first phone call.  We will try our best to get you into one of our therapists’ schedule as soon as possible. The more flexible your schedule, the easier it is to make an appointment.

Who should attend the first appointment?

If you are scheduling an appointment for a child or adolescent, you will be notified if the child should attend the first meeting. You may also express your preference regarding whether you would like to meet with the therapist for the first appointment without the child, particularly if they are 6 or younger. If you are scheduling an appointment for a couple, a joint Initial Consultation is preferred.

What information do you require from new clients?

We ask that each new client complete a History Form prior to the first appointment. You can visit our New Clients page and complete the relevant History Form on the computer, print it and bring it with you for your first appointment. You can also provide insurance information on our Authorization for Treatment form, which can be printed and signed by you. You can also review our Practice Policies, print and sign them. Bring all these with you to your first appointment. In the event that you are unable to complete these tasks beforehand, you can do so at the office. In that case, please arrive 30 minutes before your first appointment so that you may have the entire time allowed for your Initial Consultation with your therapist.

What insurance plans do you accept?

Most of our professional staff accept BCBS and Aetna. Many of our staff accept United HealthCare and Medicare. However, each company requires each professional to be individually credentialed with their company. For a summary of which insurance each therapist accepts, please visit our “Staff Specialties/Insurances Accepted” page.
