Janel M. Davis, LMFT
Janel M. Davis is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She is a graduate of Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She is also a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University with a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy. Ms. Davis holds dual licensure in Florida and Connecticut.
Ms. Davis has experience working with many diverse populations including adults, children, and families. She has several years of experience in particular working with children and families at the Yale Child Study Center. She is trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE). She has also been trained in Parent Management Training (PMT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Ms. Davis strongly utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as a treatment modality.
Ms. Davis is currently involved in training for Child and Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) which a trauma focused intervention for Young Children. Additionally, Ms. Davis is an ordained minister and enjoys supporting clients who which to integrate their faith with clinical work.
Ms. Davis is a collaborative therapist and focuses on the therapeutic alliance between client and clinician. Additionally, she is an integrative therapist and utilizes both post-modern and modern approaches to therapy. Ms. Davis has clinical interests in both individual, group, family, children and couples work.
