Geoffrey Peal, Psy.D. is a licensed psychologist specializing in the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Peal integrates cognitive-behavioral, attachment, and interpersonal-based interventions to help teens and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, anger issues, peer problems, and difficulties with interpersonal problem solving. Dr. Peal also works with athletes and others with high-intensity careers on performance-related issues. He uses mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral, and other evidence-based treatment for improvement in a variety of areas for these individuals to maximize their achievement in whatever goals they choose. He has worked with athletes in a wide variety of sports and has a particular interest in advancing performance and mental health initiatives within the growing area of competitive Esports.
Dr. Peal also trained at University of Miami Autism-Spectrum Assessment Clinic assessing children and adults for Autism-Spectrum disorders. He also worked extensively with clients diagnosed with anxiety disorders at the University of Miami Anxiety Research and Treatment Center and utilized cognitive-behavioral techniques to help clients overcome anxiety, panic, and obsessive-compulsive symptoms.
As the Chief Technology Officer of Family Psychology Associates, he is responsible for advancing the company’s progress on using technology, media, apps, and other emerging areas to connect with individuals and help provide education and information related to online-based therapy and connect with mental health resources in various ways. He also helps in hiring, training, and management of staff and clinicians in a practice with over 20 licensed therapists.
